orange and black

remember how we have a superhero for a dad/husband? let this refresh your memory

this amazing guy had another birthday and we threw an orange and black party for him; it was festive, delicious, and a fun reason to celebrate all together. I should probably mention it was also quite memorable.

We picked up the birthday boy at the train station and Madeleine greeted him in her over the top halloween outfit. We came home and showed off our decorations, sat down for dinner and that's when the memorable part stated. No more than 30 seconds in to dinner Madeleine made one of those caution or warning noises and then proceeded to throw up, twice. Yet another unsuccessful gallon challenge.

After we cleaned up, we once again sat down to eat while she was playing in the other room. Probably our third bite of the night was interrupted by Madeleine screaming. She had tipped over in her little rocking chair, managed to get her legs stuck and gashed open her lip on the TV stand in the process.

When she finally stopped bleeding we figured it was time for a bath. Somehow our special babies shampoo that claims to be tear-free managed to get into M's eye - screaming and crying ensued along with a red, swollen eye. Let's just say it was a traumatic day for the little one and a pretty memorable birthday for Spencer. She ended the day laying on the couch with daddy and a huge puffy lip.
