Finally Madeleine's mop was chopped, she got a diva infusion and shared her love of fish and chips with two willing aunts. Sadly Niki and Jerusha's time in Australia came to an end and soon after our time did as well :(
Our last day in Geelong we woke up and ran outside to catch a glimpse of our last sunrise. It was so hard to leave such a beautiful place but the hardest part was to leave all the fantastic people we met. True, good friends are hard to come by but I felt like I had some waiting for me in Australia. Fortunately we had a week in Tasmania with one of those friends as our last big hoorah before we left, a big hoorah that yielded 779 picutres, literally, so give me some time to get to those.
Despite being sad about leaving, it feels fantastic to be back home. We survived the 24 hour trip home (thanks to Madeleine sleeping on the floor of the plane, at our feet, and Henry sleeping soundly in his carseat) and are still exhausted. Last night/day we went to bed at 5am and woke up at 2am...slowly but surely we'll get back to normal.
I only drove on the left-hand side of the road once while driving (fortunately it was in a parking lot), savored the last of our yummy Aussie treats, and couldn't help but smile at how cheap groceries are here.
