Hawaii

One of the perks of Spencer's job is the ridiculous amount of airline miles and hotel points he gets from traveling.  Last winter, to beat the weather that practially quarantined us, we booked a trip to Kauai.  We flew to Utah 5 days after moving to Boston, and then a few days later left the kids with Spencer's parents and enjoyed a week of island bliss.  The kids dodged the stomach flu that was flying around the family and seemed to not even notice we were gone - not sure what the means but it was nice not worrying about them.

Kayak trip to Secret Falls. 

• feeling like we were in "Lost"
• swimming behind the waterfall
• feeling so proud and grateful I remembered to put on bug spray
• the 60 second utter downpour while kayaking back

• the last day snorkeling Spencer's back got burned
• my new phone has a pretty awesome camera
• tunnel of trees
• we were too cheap to pay to go out the lighthouse so the lookout point was good enough :)
