One Saturday we took the kids to the YMCA to go swimming. You can imagine the logistics involved in the family dressing room with three little kids. Takes a lot out of you so we bring as little as possible, leaving everything else at home - including our cell phones. We had a great time swimming and were rushed on our way out. Spencer and I were planning on going to the temple that night so I showered at the Y. We raced home, Spencer showered and when he came out he mentioned, "my dad called about 50 times..." Weird. Well, if it were really important, he would have left a message - probably just wanted to talk to the kids.
So we made a quick 15 minute turn around, loaded the kids in the car and pulled out. As we were driving away Spencer finally called his dad.
"where are you going?" he asked
"ummm, to the temple. how do you know we're leaving?" Spencer questioned.
Just then he pulled up behind us at the stop sign.
Surprises are the best - even if you have to wait in your car for 3 hours while we leisurely swim :)Thanks grandpa for a wonderful weekend - it was a great kickoff to the Christmas season!
