These crazies.
After spending way too much time at Target today, these two were begging to go to the toy section. We compromised with sunglasses. We pretended we were movie stars and pirates. I'll let you guess which is which.
" In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You find the fun, and - SNAP - the job's a game!" Mary Poppins
Amelia drags a stuffed animal around the house - usually a teddy bear and enventually makes her way upstairs to her "spot". She fiddles around with bath toys and probably wishes she was taking a bath and enjoys her alone time for a good 15 minutes. Who needs toy rooms when you have a bathroom.
Needless to say we clean the bathroom frequently. In fact, just today we even had a mother daughter tutorial. At the end of the day when I asked the kids what their favorite part was, Henry said watching Magic School Bus and Madeleine said learning to clean the toilet. My job here is done.
After she's done in the bathroom, Amelia makes her way across the hall to her room and manages to open the drawer under her bed. She then proceeded to unload everything from the drawer, climb in herself and then cry for help because she's stuck. Again, another 15 minute independent activity.
It's practically impossible to not smile back at her.
Spring in Minnesota means boots with capris and unzipped jackets with sunglasses. It also mean the great thaw and time to chip away at the ice that's been there for 6 months.
And spring cleaning. Or in my case, spring project planning. The last picture makes me want to have a front door makeover. I'm thinking a more detailed column, black door with clear storm door. And something to hide those ugly gutters that inevitable greet you like they're part of the welcome mat. Who knows, maybe the Christmas wreath we bought from the scouts will stay up year round?!?
Spring also means beautiful skies. You don't see sunsets like this until after daylight savings gives Mother Nature a good wake up call.
